Experience with this particular Tool ? Like ? Dislike ? And Why ? How well does Binding hold up being laminated with acetone ? Attachment: Binding_Laminator_sm.jpg

it doesn't work with ABS plastic binding. Not a fan of this, you can glue in the purfling with the binding. |

A few bits of baltic birch ply does the same thing for pennies... I do that sort of thing to bond blk or blk/wht/blk to the edge of ivoroid for side stripes. Easier than trying to put binding and side purfling on at the same time. It's nearly an instant bond, do about a foot at a time, just pull it through and do the next foot. After I've done the whole binding strip, I turn it over and do the other side to make sure it's bonded. When you are done, it holds well enough to glue in. |

Acetone works fine laminating Stewmacs ABS bindings ... done many yards of it. (Actually, acetone will break down ABS scraps in a jar for touch up.) I made a copycat device just using UHMW scrap blocks you often find in woodworking & hobby stores. Fairly easy to make & clean. |
