I have some Afzelia Burl that I am using for a headplate. The knots and other defects need reinforced with CA glue before I rout out its profile. If I use CA glue to do this will it be compatible and invisible if I use Target Coatings EM6000 as the finish? Thanks |

I didn't have any issues with CA showing under EM6000. At one point I had flooded my rosette with it and I used it for my binding. You cant tell. Most ended up getting either sanded back or sanded level but I did finish over some. |

Did you use a seal coat? From what I understand, none of the waterbornes stick to CA. I'd guess if you did a liberal seal coat with dewaxed shellac you'd be ok... |

I used Zpoxy as a pore fill. I did use some dewaxed shellac on the top. I'm almost certain I did some fill with CA touching up on my headstock. I don't see it, but I cant be 100% sure what I did. I haven't had any adhesion issues other than melting from a guitar stand (which isn't the same thing). |

I always spray two light coats of dewaxed shellac as a seal coat before putting on any finish. Edit: sent this from work but didn't mean to imply this was how you should do it - just what I do. I did do a repair on a walnut neck near the nut with EM6000 and did not use a shellac seal coat, the finish on the repaired area has chipped out over the last 3 years or so. |

i've grain filled multiple guitars with CA and then top coated with EM6000. No sealer in between. It has worked beautifully. Go for it |
