We used to use this at work for glueing the bridges. It was the consistancy of normal glue. I bought a bottle the other day, and it's much thicker, more like tapioca. It smells fine, and seems to glue stuff, but it makes me wonder. Anyone else encountered this? |

In case he doesn't see your post, check in with David Wren. I think I recall from a long ago post that this is one of the glues he uses most in his shop. |

202GF is what I use for cabinet work. I just started a new bottle last month, and it was nice and creamy. I've had old bottles that seemed to thicken with age. You need to turn the bottle upside down occasionally to mix the solids, so maybe it was on its side for a while, and it settled. There should be a label on the bottom of the bottle - could be a batch #. I would call Lee Valley about it. Alex |

When I got back into building I started using the 2002 because Sergei de Jonge was using it ... seems to work. I just starting using the last of one of their 34 ounce bottles (2nd biggest size) that I've had for around a year and didn't notice any significant thickening ... definitely not the viscosity of tapioca that's for sure. I think I've seen several threads that give the date code data for this glue? |

Well, I think I'll not use it just to be safe. I bought it for gluing back panels, just I case there were small gaps in the joint. I took the whole cap off, turned it over, and nothing came out after even a minute. Better safe than sorry... |

Something to watch for glues is that when they start to thicken up they are showing their age and cannot be relied upon to perform to their stated specifications. |

I've used it for gluing any dark colored woods over the years. I forgot a bottle for about eight months and got some separation. I could see that the bottom was very thick because of the high solids content.Might be an idea just to stir it up and see what happens. Brent |
