Here's some gadgets I made while manning the fretting bench at Larrivee.

Basically the same as the file holders, but designed to hold sandpaper instead. They hold the sandpaper at the exact same angle as the file. We used double cut files to help things go a little faster. Then a few scrubs with 240, round the fret ends, switch to 800, then steel wool. Helps maintain a clear facet end, and really speeds things. Handy when you have to do a dozen a day or more every day. Also helpful for beginners, as it takes less finesse. Also nice on delicate guitars because you can go the last 10% with 240 instead of the file block. Not strictly necessary of course, but quite handy.

Anyway, the blocks just work with a friction fit, a quick knock with the hammer or against the bench opens and closes them. Some of you might find them useful too!

Not to imply that anyone could ever get bored by fretting all day every day week after week month after month year after year...;)

Tommy Trojan is the University of Southern California mascot. Most unlikely he would be on a Canadian item..... but then they did open shop in California a few years ago.
