Anyone have any good tips for tinting agents compatible with CA glues? |

Lampblack is perfect for making it BLACK. MEK - borne aniline dyes work well, but the MEK dilutes and catalyzes the CA. If you allow the MEK dye to dry almost completely in a little cup, then add the CA, you can get some good results. Take an empty aluminum soft drink can and turn it upside down to use the depressed bottom as your cup. . . |

I don't how to but I know you can buy it already tinted black so with the right dye it ought to be a piece of cake. I would guess an alcohol based dye. |

Transtint dyes also work but best to mix the dye in some thin CA first, and add that to any medium or thick if needed. That's a Dan Erlewine trick. I have not tried this with some of the more pigmented Transtint colors like black, tobacco brown, even the amber which tend to mix funny in lacquer. |
