Hello i would like to make the binding stripe of the following instrument as i cant find it ready made... Does anyone know of a way to build this binding? and also will it be possible to bend to that shape? |

I know that as chevron inlay. It's almost certainly not bent to shape. Each piece is fitted and adjusted so it conforms to the curve, the angle of each piece changing as it flows around that curve. The straight areas are obviously fairly straightforward. Just use a mini shooting board and sharp block plane. The inlay is placed on a half edge. I've done something very similar for Baroque Guitars. |
