Has anyone encountered integrated saddle transducers? I mean those saddle that has this metal clip that contains piezo elements, and the catch is if you try and make a saddle by hand to fit them, it effectively breaks the pickup. Is it possible to find a replacement transducer for those, because I have an acoustic bass with such pickup.. It does not work and I think the transducer is broken (It won't make any sound, and when I put a ohmmeter to it, it registered an open circuit. So now I have the option of either finding an integrated saddle transducer that works, or use a standard UST and modify the bridge to accept standard saddles... Any suggestions? |

that sounds like (or similar to) the original LR Baggs pickups from ages ago...they stopped making them because once the joint breaks it's pretty much toast...IIRC there is a slight chance of success of gluing the pieces back together with the appropriate clamping pressure... I don't think that style of pickup is made by anybody these days. taking into account the above I would suggest going with whatever sort of modern pickup system you feel is appropriate for the situation |
