Post subject:  Bending Purple Heart?

Folks,
Building a Uke for my daughter that loves purple (I know this forum is for mainly guitars but more people check this forum out). Bought a couple of back & Side sets of it and was wondering how it bends? Split prone? etc.

Any one here worked with it?

All help appreciated!

I've bent it once for a guitar and I thouht it bent well. I would thickness it down to about .085 to bend it.

Hi, not much risk on purpleheart splitting. It bends really nicely, just might tend to spring back a bit as it has a good "memory" of what it was like to be a tree.
