Here's a good way to get symmetrical tuner holes on a Martin style headstock. It requires screw in drill guides with interchangeable sizes. (http://www.leevalley.com/US/wood/page.a ... ,180,42311) I've been using a homemade one for 13 years but recently a machinist friend duplicated it in metal.

It keys off the end and side of the headstock and you just filp it over and screw the bushings in the other side for the opposite set of holes. Symmetry is insured if your headstock is symmetrical.

Nice work. Tip of the hat to machinist too.

Very nice Terence. I use a similar jig that I made out of 1/2" plexiglas. Only difference is mine keys off the end of the fretboard and the same as yours on the sides of the peghead.

Thanks again. I like the blowout protector clamped right to the back.
