I'm getting ready to sell some of my wood stash and I've got everything ID'ed except this b&s set. I probably bought it from someone on the OLF in the last couple of years.
What is it? Thanks!

Looks like Australian Blackwood to me.

Looks like junk Dan, better send it to me :)

It looks seems to be an acacia, thinking Australian blackwood or possibly Koa.

I think you're right with the Koa guess.
Here's a shot of it wetted.

I have a few sets of Myrtle with that figure, color and grain pattern. My first guess would be an acacia though.

Ah, I thought I recognized that particular chatoyance :) That's definitely koa, specifically from Todd Rose. I have the other set he was selling along with it, which looks similar but with a wave in the grain. I saved yours' picture too, and it still has those numbers written on it.

You're right! I did buy it from Todd Rose four years ago. I think that I will keep this set. It's some good stuff. And as duh Padma say, its real wood too...
