My wife is an Android app developer and she is always asking me if I have any ideas for apps. A few weeks ago I was in the shop and I needed a fret calculator. I figured that I'd download one on to my phone but couldn't find one. So, I ask her if she could make me one. She said; "Sure, what do you want it to do?" I explained the principles and she put together a nice simple app. You can download it on to your android device if you have one. It's free. The easiest way to find it is to go to the PlayStore and search for "fret calculator".

The app is nothing fancy. You enter the scale length and the number of frets and it prints out the positions of the frets from the nut. You can enter your scale length in any units you choose. decimal inches, millimeters, furlongs. It will print out the positions in that same scale.

Try it out.

Pfft, only furlongs. Come back to us when you've bothered to include perches, rods and chains.

Cheers for this.

Can she make it create a template to print out? Like wfret.

I have to post a slight correction. It doesn't seem to handle parsecs. I haven't tried angstroms. Hands should work, however.

Printing from Android devices is tricky so adding that might take awhile.
