Cut away cross over lefty #1 Maple back and sides, spruce top, stooping falcon inlay. (I have a back ground in Falconry ) The guitar sounds great and has wonderful action. This was my prototype! It turned out much better then i thought it would. Took me a while however, I have now started my next, same build only two at once. A lefty for my self and a righty for my son.

Thanks for all your help on the forum.

Blake

Great job! Very clean! Seems to all be backwards though? ;)
(I'm a lefty who plays right handed)

I like the transition from the cutaway into the heel of the neck.
I think it would look even better with the binding wrapping around the heel, but that would be a bit tricky to execute!

Nicely done, the maple looks great and the elements compliment the overall. I second the request for some closeups.

Nice!

How does a falcon stoop exactly.... ;)

Thanks or the comments so far. Yes I agree with the binding request. I plan on framing in the heel joint next time. I will take more close up photos later.
A little falcon trivia for you now; stooping is a term used in falconry for a falcon diving to catch their prey. The peregrine falcon is the fastest animal on the planet however I beg to differ having trained many for hunting. The fastest animal I my opinion is the Gyr falcon for those interested. Gyr's being clocked at over 300 mph. But the most amazing thing is the g force's the bird can withstand when pulling out of the dive. Over 20 g's I could go on forever so I will leave it at that. I hope you enjoy the trivia. And also my guitar
Thanks
Blake

The guitar looks great! My family has a history of falconry as well. It's been a long time since I've had a bird to hunt with but I still love going out with my father and brother to watch them. My brother is bringing a Merlin home from the shore today to start training. Very cool to find another falconer.

Looks very nice to me from way over here, Blake. The body seems very deep to me, but that is NOT a criticism--only an observation based on the photos. I LIKE the effect. Congratulations! Sadly, being the right handed person that I am, I will never have a chance to play it.

Absolutely terrific work, Blake! You nailed the heel transition; it looks just like the pictures we found and discussed. I'm really impressed.

I'm also delighted to hear that you are so happy with the sound and feel of it. There's not a feeling like it in the world, is there, when you get to play something you put together?

nice work; beautiful maple.
here in chicago(more so in the past when i was a kid) there are mosquito hawks, basically giant nocturnal swallows with a white stripe on each wing....anywho, i used to be out after dusk, and when it was quiet you could hear their wings making a "whooshing" sound as they executed a dive and pulled up....i would bet they are also contenders for "highest G" ratings, as well as the falcons....

Thanks guys. I'm really happy with the build. Being a lefty it is the style and design I have been dreaming about. Spanish body, cordoba heel, Taylor neck, french polish and great sound. Next build will be same design with two mirrored guitars one for me and my son. This build will be malaysian black wood sister sets, and engleman spruce top. I have the necks almost completed. Stay tuned
Thanks to to for your help
Blake.
