So I finished this guitar a couple of weeks ago, took a bunch of pics with my good camera and a back drop, just like I have done since #3, delivered the guitar and now, the pics are nowhere to be found. My wife imported them and the pics shown in the import are all black.
Fortunately, I had two pics I had taken with my iPhone after I strung it up. Here are those, almost identical, pics. I took them in the second floor of my house which is currently undergoing renovations, thus the lack of floor molding and messed up floor.
The guitar is black walnut with a very light curl (not that you can see it because I don't have any pics of the back)
Lutz spruce top
bloodwood appointments
mitered purfling at the tail
redwood burl rosette
black walnut head stock veneer and heel cap from off cuts.

The 15 on the headstock is because this was a 15th wedding anniversary gift from a wife to her husband. Good wife.

It sounds great and has an awesome finish. I swear. lol
Thanks for looking!

Tony

Hey, Tony, about the pics showing black after the export: Well...technology is great--whenever it works. In the meantime, that's a great looking guitar. I love walnut. Congratulations.

Nice job! Just curious. How long has it taken you to get to number 10? I'm just tooling up for my first build and I'm wondering about how people have paced.

Very nice. The rosette and binding lend a touch of class while overall the guitar looks clean and uncluttered.

Great lines, Tony! Your rosettes always have a natural beauty to them. Hopefully you can get some more pictures to show us, and for your portfolio!

Very cool!

What program did you try importing them to? Every now and then Aperture would do that to some of my images. What file type are they?

'atta boy Tony, looks great!
I am a sucker for bloodwood bindings... I like the all-wood approach.

Thanks for the compliment. I love bloodwood binding. The "15" is for Fifteen years of wedded bliss. The guitar was a gift from a woman to her husband for their 15th anniversary. It was also a surprise so the woman and I worked together to get something close to what he would like. The fact that he was crying after he received it could either be good or bad. I'm leaning towards good.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. They are appreciated.

The file type was RAW and I am using my iMac to import them to iPhoto. iThink iShould have iChecked them before making the delivery, but iHave never had an issue in the past. 56 black squares were all iHad on my screen.

Todd Stock wrote:
Nice, Tony, but why did you put a TV screen in the middle of the top?

Because it's what all the cool kids are doing Todd. TV screens in car seats, TV screens in the guitar, TV screens in the TV screen!

I build two a year now. I did three once. I started building when my son was 2 and he is 6 now, so I guess I have been building for 4 years already. I have built 10 guitars and an ukulele. There is no pace. There is only build.
