Ernie: John at Old Standard Wood sells HR sides and back sets that he cuts himself but not sure if he sells stock, but may be worth a try.

There is always gilmers. Sometimes you can find what you are looking for. Maybe send an e-mail to them?

I will second Gilmers and Hibdon. I called John at Old Standard a couple weeks ago and he didn't have any available. Also there is a place named Pine Creek Wood Company that I know has some in stock in the size you are looking for and some larger too. Here is a link to the page:

Tom, do you get HR from them? I see that, as I am, you are in Canada. And it is my understanding that CITES and the Lacey Act forbides US suppliers to ship HR outside of the US.

Thanks for letting me know because I have not been successful in finding a canadian HR supplier.

Alain perhaps you can get HR from another country besides the usa. Are wood imports from central american countries banned as well in Canada. ??.I/m sure you can find a spanish speaking person from MTL that could help. When I lived in mtl and travelled all around mexico I had no problemo with spanish , latin root words are similiar to french. There are some wonderful exotic hdwds coming from mexico ,central america, and the carribean. Well worth checking into. Bon chance

Thanks Ernie, I'll check that out. But for what I understand, contries complying with CITES can not export HR, except the country that harvested it in the first place. The same goes for honduras mahogany (again, if I'm not mistaking). In other words, I have to get HR from a canadian distributor, whom itself got it directly from the contry that harvested. Exotic Woods in Burlington, ON, has some boards, but nothing precut for B/S sets.

maderas barber in spain has (good, BTW) honduran rosewood on the cheap (10 eur/set for an acoustic, 85 for a classical) . you´d have to pay for shipping and customs tough.
