I've got several sets of gorgeous, figured bubinga, one of which is about to be turned into another 00. The snag is that it literally smells like vomit. I guess I could throw one of my wife's lavender sashays in there, or maybe hose it down with her Gin and rose water perfume. My Polo cologne seems a little heady. Any thoughts? |

I resawed 4 sets and built with one of them - didn't notice that smell. Wonder where the roots of your tree were?? |

![]() I'm not sure if there's any way to deodorize wood, but I'd recommend the use of a Port Orford cedar soundboard. Can't smell much past that ![]() |

I've had some bubinga that was fine and some that was really smelly. A thin coat of shellac on the inside should take care of the smell. |
