I contacted SM to see about getting a replacement but have not yet heard back so thought I'd ask my colleagues. Just like the title says. A customer of mine came back yesterday because a knob had stripped out off the shaft so it wont spin. I built this guitar about 6 years ago. The ebony knob is cracked. You know where I might find one? I don't really see how it's fastened on either. It doesn't look glued on and there is no mounting screw.

I'd keep trying SM to see if you can get an answer there. I've had problems with a few sets of Waverly tuners over the years and they have come good to help me when I've had a problem. Since they are the manufacturer (I believe) than they would be your best bet for getting an exact match.

Wow Stew Mac totally hooked me up with a whole new set of tuners. I just have to send the broken one back when I get the new one's. Can't beat that for customer service :)

Jay Hostetler at Stew Mac is particularly keen I think on maintaining their excellent reputation.
And especially with the guitar making community.
I'm not surprised by their response.
