Post subject:  Unkonwn Finish Flaw

Does anybody know what this finish flaw is? I tried using swirl remover and it helped a little... Should I try to go back to fine polishing compound? ...maybe back to medium? Does anyone recognize this? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve

That's a little odd Steve. I would give it a scrape with a fresh razor blade and scrape till it's gone. Hopefully not all the way to bare wood.

What's the finish and how long has it been finished for?

Do you wet sand between coats? Looks like sanding sludge trapped between coats.

Or sanding sludge trapped in the pores and the finish hasn't cleared it. Hopefully it isn't that because the only way to get rid of it is to get back to wood.

It's EM6000. My finishing schedule was spray 4 coats per day, level sand the next day with 400 grit before 4 more coats, after all coats were sprayed I wet sanded with 1000 grit and odorless mineral spirits, and buffed using foam pads on my hand drill clamped in a vise, using Stew Mac coarse, medium, and fine liquid compound, finishing up with swirl remover. I want to get a real buffing setup - just haven't done that yet...

BTW - that was supposed to be "unknown" finish flaw... I scratched it with my finger nail and it came off.... Oh well, no worries...
