I'd like two dishes, one 25 foot radius and one 15 foot radius. I know I could make them but I don't really fancy cleaning up the mess! Anyone know where I could get them for a reasonable price? Is it too costly to get them CNCd? Thanks in advance, Nick |

Making them yourself will save you many $$'s, and the mess isn't so bad, especially if you do it out doors. Or in a buddy's shop ![]() Alex |

Nick, there is definitely someone who advertises now and again on ebay that is based in the UK. Just had a look now and couldn't find him, but if you keep checking regularly I am sure you will find him. |

You could save yourself a lot of money and a lot of mess by making one like this. You could also make it 15' rad. on one side and 25' rad on the other. http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/forum ... adius-Dish |

But I wouldn't make them double sided - apparently they can distort under go-bar pressure. |

Thanks to all for replying! I'm thinking I may as well make them as shown at the ukulele underground link.... I do wonder though; I've not got a go bar deck, and I haven't got a lot of space. Is it possible to take a 25 foot radius rish and cut it into a "Cumpiano style" workboard. That way, I could continue building free form but without the, frankly, inadequate cork shim system. Could I make it as close to "one size fits all" as possible? If I cut it to just larger than a dreadnought, would it still be ok for smaller bodies guitars? I'm hoping so. I'm not sure the ukulele underground method would be suitable though, I don't suppose anyone has a 25 foot radius routing sled I could borrow? ![]() |

Hi Nick, I made some using the router sled method, really easy to make-just do it outside! However, a friend of mine made some by gluing spacer blocks of different heights to a flat workboard and then screwing a thin (10-12mm maybe) piece of MDF onto the spacers, forcing it into the required radius. No dust. I have the formula somewhere for working out the spacing and heights of the blocks. I'll have a look. Where are you based in england? I'm in brighton and would happily let you use my sled if you're close.. Mine cost me about £4 worth of MDF offcuts each. Don't buy them. |

I'm thinking about that method too... I bought my radius dish because I don't want the mess in my shop... but I thought spacers wouldn't work because of deflection from go bar rods. I need a very shallow radius for the soundboard. |

I also bought from Carlos' eBay store (guitar woods or something similar) and was very happy with goods and service. |
