My guy that does my clips asked me to look at his Ibanez acoustic which was buzzing all over, and it appears to me that it needs a bit of relief in the neck. I don't really do steel strings, but with a capo on one, and holding each string down at 12, I'm not seeing any relief at all. Strings seem to touch all the way. I need directions on how to adjust the rod to get some. I don't want to mess things up. I may need to make a new saddle too, but I wanted to see about the relief first. I have most sizes of Allen wrenches available. Which way to turn and how much at a time? I know it's not much. A bit of SS instruction is in order here! TIA! |

Loosen the truss rod 1/4 turn and let it sit a couple of hours and see what you have. With a capo on the first fret and your finger on the 14/15 fret about .006 relief in the middle is a good place to start. Set the relief then you can set up the guitar. |
