My first Antes Parlour build, and I'd like to use the Martin 24.9" scale instead of 24.5" as per plan, moving the bridge back 0.2"
The plan shows the bridge just overlapping the X braces at the bridge's front tips.
Do I -
1) Keep the same bracing pattern and just widen the bridge.
2) Move the bracing back 0.2 inches.
3) Close up the angle of the X braces so the standard bridge width overlaps the X braces.
4) Do something else?
Any other considerations? (I know compensation will change and the plan is over braced)

Here's one I'm just putting finish on, it's a 12 fret 24.9" scale base on the Antes Parlour plan although I traced an 0-16NY for the shape. I think I just moved the bridge plate - I built the box 3 years ago and never completed the neck till recently. Yes I know about the tone bar ;)

I built an Antes with a 24.9 scale as well. Sounds wonderful, but I have more bridge rotation than I'd like. In retrospect, I think eany one of these options: moving the x back, leaving the top thicker (say .130 for the redwood I used), closing the x a little, or using tapered braces instead of scalloped, would have worked fine. Unfortunately, I made the wrong choice on all of those....still a wonderful guitar, just a little peeved it's not perfect. If I were to to it again, I would close the x angle slightly and use unscalloped bracing to better support the area in front of the bridge.

I've built 6 or 7 at 24.9. The oldest is about 6 years out. X brace is 9.1" from the top of the upper bout to the top of the X. Angle 90 degrees. 12.1" to the front edge of the bridge plate. I lengthened the bridge to about 6 3/4" to get the ends over the X. The oldest one has a slight bulge behind the bridge that has been stable for several years. Conventional scalloping. They sound great. Be sure to get the lower face brace on the correct side of the X! The projection of the plans is from the top.

Here are some pictures.

And a build thread for one.
