I was cutting a slot for the saddle with a Bosch Colt, and the bit got pulled into the slot. It was well tightened and I was taking light passes. The wrong kind of end mill? Upcut? Downcut? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Steve |

When you seat the bit in the collet, back it out 2mm so that it isn't bottomed out. A bottomed bit will not tighten well, on occasion. If there is any glazing on the shaft of the bit, clean it with blade cleaner. Alex |

Did the bit get pulled down into the slot, making your slot too deep, or did it catch on the side of the slot and take out a divot on the side? If option 1, Alex is correct. Don't bottom the bit in the collet. If option 2, then, umm...hold on tighter! |
