I thought I would share a couple of shots of my latest. It's a bit of a milestone because it is my first go at a bevel and the first of my own shape. It does still look very much like a guitar. ![]() The specs are: Koa back and sides Bearclaw Sitka top Bolivian Rosewood bevel and binding Mahogany/black veneer neck Ebony FB, bridge and head plate Black MOP shell Gotoh 510 tuners Nitro over Zpoxy finish WRC under the bevel Attachment: phpvgj2mbAM.jpg Attachment: phpjPYFOVAM.jpg Attachment: phpTivreoAM.jpg Attachment: phpJttEgzAM.jpg Attachment: php5QmdkIAM.jpg Attachment: phpB5xwp3AM.jpg Attachment: phpA5qqizAM.jpg To comment on doing a bevel, I would say that overall it was pretty fun. Thanks to Robby O'Brian's video for making it look so easy. ![]() ![]() Thanks For Looking, Danny |

Really nice looking guitar and finish. Congratulations on this impressive addition to your skill set; I'm sure the air must get more rarefied the higher you go. |

Nicely done, Danny, everything looks just right! Where is the bearclaw from? Fraser Valley Fine Woods? Alex |

Thanks Tony. You're hurricane build is looking great. Got to try a sound hole some time. Martin, I am happy to have finally done a bevel. The air is the same but I am finding more and more creative ways to screw up. ![]() Thanks Alex. It did indeed come from Fraser Valley. He must sell a lot of his wood to big builders. He only has the odd set come up. This one must have been done by a pretty tame bare but it is really stiff. I've been looking at some sets from Maurice Contracting in the Charlottes. Beautiful but spendy. It is "Private Stock" though. ![]() |

Sofisticated eh. I don't think anyone's ever called anything I've done that. Is that a complment? Thanks Greg my friend. Darrel - good to hear from you and thanks. Thanks Kevin. You're right. Wood sure doesn't have to be fancy to be beautiful. It's cool that my friend brought the board back with him from Hawaii. We got 2 sets each. ![]() |
