Hi all,

I'm happy to show you my 75th guitar. It's a cutaway classical model, with a bearclaw Lutz Spruce top and Shedua (Ovengkol) back and sides. Bindings and headstock veneer are in bubinga, the neck is in Spanish cedar and the fretboard is african ebony. The bridge is honduran rosewood.

Check out pictures here.

Well I don't know Dave, I might read some safety indiction in english on the hand dryer in the bathroom and thus feel my mother tongue be threathened! :)

(for the ones not understanding what me and Dave are joking about, read this: http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Mac ... story.html )

Oh and by the way, even the francophones here though it was crazy...

Hello Alain, beautiful guitar and a great milestone!

I hope you don't mind a question about fingerboard radius...on your webpage you have a note:

"Two fretboard profiles are offered for the Classical. The well known more traditional flat profile as well as a slightly radiused one. This one is very popular with musicians having a more acoustic guitar background, being more used to this type of fretboard which makes barre chords easier to play."

I'm building my first classical and do not have sufficient classical playing experience to have fingerboard radius preference. Would you share what "slight radius" you use?

Thanks,
Steven

Hi Steven, and thanks!

No I don't mind at all. The radius I use when asked for by the customer is 20 inches. This exact guitar (the 75th) has one. My customer has a Cervantes that has that exact radius and he wanted to keep that feature.

I beleive I don't have much more to say about it! I hope it answers your question.

That's incredible! 75! Wow, I'm not sure I'll ever reach that number...
It sure shows the years of experience in it, that's for sure.
Congrats Alain!

Alain,
It's a tremendous milestone in my opinion. Congratulations! At my rate of production as a hobbyist, I can't possibly live long enough to build 75 instruments. It's a pretty instrument, too. All the best to you.

Beautiful guitar, Alain. How did you find Shedua to work with, like Rosewood ?

+1 Beautiful guitar. Have you built classical guitars with shedua before? What do you think it does for the tone?
