LMI is out of their premium grade West African. I just recently bought a small log section of Madagascar Ebony but that will take a while to mill and dry. Can anyone provide a flaw free, very black Ebony fretboard blank that is well seasoned - in other words, the really good stuff. I will pay top market price for it.

Thanks,
Simon

Simon,
I think I have a nice black ebony fretboard or ten laying around here.

The ebony I have gotten from RC Tonewoods has been very nice. Give Bob a call.

A bit of streaking vanishes when oiled. What i call high grade ebony is the one that is truly quartersawn - least fret poking. These are hard to find so I wouldn't sell them at 10 times the market price but I could give you a jet black rift sawn one for free :) The fully flatsawn are keepers too, they make nice strips for laminated necks.

That's good to know about LMI's availability. I wanted to order a serviced ebony fretboard (24.9" scale) for my second build but am willing to wait. I'd much rather order from RC Tonewoods though, but do they offer serviced fretboards?
