This guitar is number 4 for me. I really feel i am getting the hang of this. That being said, you can still fill a warehouse with what i dont know. I will be delivering this to its new owner today. i would love to spend a month playing it, the sound is very rich and clean. This is somewhat of a experiment for me. I used two woods for the body, which i have only seen a few times, bloodwood back and african mahogony sides. I know its not usually done but i was afraid the weight of the guitar would be too much. I also used bloodwood for the neck. I was unsure of the stability of bloodwood for necks but this was a piece of wood i had bought about 4 years ago. It was straight as the day i bought it so i roughed out the neck and gave it a month to see if it would remain stable. It does add weight of course but honestly not as much as you think. Its finished in shellac, which i am getting tired of btw. takes too long to harded. The back is 4 piece construction and the sitka spruce top is 3 pieces. I have made 3 piece tops for all my guitars. What are you guys feeling about how this affects sound? This was also my first stab at binding on the fb. Turned out not to bad. I used maple. Anyway here are some pics. Any constructive critisism would be appreciated.
