When installing a bolt on mortise and tenon neck, do you put glue in the joint or just under the fingerboard extension?

I can see how this could be confusing because Martin's mortise & tenon neck joint is bolted & glued.

Maybe one of the experienced Martin repair guys can chime in on why Martin did that?

I always glue the neck joint unless there are 2 bolts.

I would suggest using very little glue for the extension. I use this glue. http://www.elmers.com/product/detail/E304. It holds well enough for that application and is a breeze to release with a little heat if need be.
