doing this the hard way.....with a chisel. some router. i call it the "Fred Flintstone".....this is the hardest piece of maple i have yet to see, it was in the bargain bin, and the thickness was just perfect for a bolt on neck, so even though it is sawn at a rift, i grabbed it.
i have no functional band saw, no planer, no thickness sander, and no real block planer- just a little toy one. not complaining, just putting it into context

got the headstock shaped and the fretboard glued on. i ordered this board a long time ago, pre-slotted and radiused. i wasn't happy with the crummy looking wood. maybe it will improve a lot with sanding...
i like making my own fretboards anyway....its the best part !
