Robbie Obrians video suggests that the truss rod should extend from over the neck tenon to midway between nut and 1st fret. my latest neck order arrived with the truss rod length only 1st fret to tenon. anybody see any potential problems with the shorter rod? Peter |

You should be fine. But if you're concerned, Mark Blanchard will make a rod any length you want and they have the variable thread pitch so the rod adjustment can be fine tuned more easily. IIRC it takes about one turn of the Blanchard rod to equal a half turn of a standard rod. So it takes less force to turn the rod. Initially Mark made rods that had a bronze part that I didn't care for but now they are all stainless steel. |
