Post subject:  Japan and Lacey?

I just found out that a customer is going to be touring Japan soon. She plans on taking an instrument that I built about 3 years ago. As far as I know, the last guitar of mine that left the country was in 1980. No restrictions back then. I'm not concerned about any of the materials except for the red heart ab rosette and MOP logo. Does anyone know if those materials are on the Lacey "do not fly" list?

Does the gov't have an available listing of materials that are banned in the various countries?

Thanks.

Michael, contact David Berkowitz, as he has the most up to date info on this stuff. Last I heard shell products can cause some distress, at least when exporting. I'm going to be shipping a ukulele there in the next month or so, and I intentionally left all shell products out of the build to avoid those entanglements.

Lacey is US law not international. So at this point our customer needs to worry about the laws of the countries he is going in. CITIES restrictions are international.
