I have a couple of upcoming builds that will be hopping the pond. I am trying to avoid any CITES issues and noticed that Honduras Mahogany is listed in appendix 2. For those of you who have shipping from the US to another country, what neck woods have you used to avoid CITES? Or, have you just bit the bullet and paid for an export permit and continued to use Honduras? Thanks.

Cherry, Walnut, Maple. All make perfectly good Necks and the US is abundant in this timber.

Hog is just fine to export, provided it is not as unworked timber. If it is worked as neck, linings or B/S, you have no restrictions from CITES.
