Beautiful guitar, David. I just bought a set of birdseye maple. I have wanted to build a guitar of birdseye for ages. Any peculiarities in dealing with it? Bending, etc.?

Thanks,
Max

Thanks all!
Max, Birdseye is really easy to work with. I use a thicknessing sander to guage it so no problem there.
The sides on this one were actually a test set which I got from a supplier to bend for practice before bending some very expensive Bosnian Bird's eye (my #96).
It turned out to be a breeze because the grain is so interlocking that it does not have the weak fracture areas that you can find in fiddleback figuring.
The only other concern was chip outs when routing for bindings but that turned out to not be a problem as well.
I love the fact that there are no grain pores on this stuff and thus it takes FP very well (smells like popcorn when you sand it too).
I'm not a big fan of fancy woods but I must admit that there is an attraction for some and if it helps them to want a guitar, so be it.

Best!!
