This is a guitar I built with my son a while ago - it is a great experience to build with your "kids" (he's 24) The nut and saddle are Black Water Buffalo Horn to give it that "stealth" look The back and sides are black walnut - back is one piece This is the first cedar top I have built with - I love the walnut / cedar combination This was sold to Andy Hatfield, the 2011 flatpicking champion at Winfield You can see and hear him playing it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miozC8HxG5E |

Wow indeed! That's a gorgeous instrument. Maybe I just missed it, but I didn't see anyone playing it in your linked video. |

That's gorgeous, John!!! ![]() I'm intrigued by the soundhole placement as I've been mulling over doing something similar on a future build. Did you use a pretty standard x-brace pattern? |

Double wow... but I repeat myself. Awesome! I would love to hear a higher quality recording of that young man playing your guitar. Congrats! |

Awesome guitar. Gorgeous indeed. So how did you attach the neck?; or is it a glue-in? Very interesting design. Love the dark stealth look of the neck/headplate. Jason |

Top is standard X brace - I just made the soundhole to accomodate the brace pattern. Also did a patch in the area of the soundhole (glued in a piece of top material to make it double thick) It is a standard bolt on neck, however, I made the soundhole on the next one a bit larger as I could barely reach the bolt |
