I was at the Internation Machine Trade Show in chicago over the last couple weeks and during my wandering I came across a Mill company that made the following Guitar . It " I was told" is about 30 lbs and milled completely from aluminum . The neck is Hollowed out as is the body . I was told EVERYTHING was aluminum . Tuners , knobs , strings , pickups etc: While its not a Functional Electric , It was a great advertisment to the companys ability as a Machine Company .

They wouldnt however turn the case lights off for me , so excuse the pics .

I remember Mark Farner played an all-aluminum Veleno back in the latter days of Grand Funk.

Also - if you ever get a chance to go to the IMTS, you won't be sorry. I attended for a few days at the 1980 event and as a trained machinist, I was in hog heaven! These were the pre-PC days, and many barely clad ladies were handing out literature or simply luring guys into the booths. Add the open bars every few yards, and it was a big party!
