I think you are going to really like this sander. I have had my JBOS-5 for about 1.5 years now and haven't felt the need to change the sanding sleeves yet. They seem to hold up very well. I agree that the dust collection port is too small (but it conveniently hooks right up to my Ridgid shop vac hose). I am in the planning stages of getting my shop set up with 6" dust collection (Bill Pentz approved) and would like to open up that port to at least 4" or 6" if possible. Would love to hear some ideas, and Ill give my ideas when I get to into it. |

Just leave them taller without cutting them. If it bugs you, then Dremel cut-off wheels work well. |

Hi Filippo, Just curious on the driving decision to buy the jet? I am thinking of getting a spindle sander as well, and was looking at this (funds are tight at moment): http://www.grizzly.com/products/Benchto ... nder/G0723 Glenn |

A number of us here have used them and they are nice tools. |

If someone sells a 5" you can leave 1/4" at each end and used it . I have the 6" and since I sell abrasives I use ( 2 ) 3" sleeves and it works fine for me , I can get the sleeves but the manuf only sells to me in 50 or 100 piece quantities . |

I buy 5 1/2" sleeves from Busy Bee in Canada, so they are definitely available. I also bought the 3" drum complete with shaft which is an accessory for the Craftex CX500. It fits directly onto my Canwood as well as the General International version. I see it's $45.00 right now. They have frequent sales and I was able to get it for $30. There are likely similar options down your way that would fit the Jet machine. Here's the link. http://www.busybeetools.com/products/SA ... CX500.html |
