| Post subject: | What do you finish your bending molds with, poly ? |
Hi - What do you guys use to finish the molds with ? Poly ? will it stand up to the heat of bending without melting or flaking ? I am also actually considering covering the bending surface with the aluminum duct tape, but I do want to finish the mold first - what finish to use ? |

I just leave them bare wood, they don't get wet when bending so I figured why put a finish on them. They are tools not furniture so why have a finish on them. |

I spent time making them - despite the good advice above - I think I will finish the sides of mine at least. I see to many nice shop pictures on this site - i have to compete somehow. You think poly would be fine on the side surfaces ? I read something about shellac bubbling. |

I use wax, perafin or bees. Because I laminate with heat and there is some squeeze out. |
