Ok, so I have three projects going in the shop... Bending some ukes, bracing some J40s, and a furniture project. I come in the house to hang with kids and wife, and some cooking show is on and the folks are using acetate paper with chocolate. I use parchment paper endlessly. Is there a use for acetate paper in guitar building? And no, I'm not planing on binding my next guitar with chocolate.

I Don't know. But keep some ready in your tool-and-material pile. Because when the  -day arrives and see some concrete use for it you will have no time to go out and buy some!

I can't think of any good uses in guitar building, but one of my other favorite art forms is old fashioned animation cel style painting on acetate. Paint marker or fine brush with india ink for outlines, and acrylic paint for colors. Then more acrylic on paper for a background, and voila :)

I recall J S Bogdanovich sells clear acetate with his bracing pattern on it that goes along with his books plans and templates. You lay it over the top or back and use a pin to poke through it to lay out the ends of the braces. Stew mac sells them...mike
