There are some points that make this guitar special to me:
• It’s my first with a smaller scale lenght (24.9) and 12 frets to the body.
• For my other three guitars I used „approved“ bracing padderns from OLF plans. But as the L-OO plan I had was for a different scale lenght,
I had to come up with an individual bracing plan for the top.
• The fretboard and headstock veneer are made out of one long blank intended for a bass guitar.
• The headstocks front and back veneers were resawn out of the upper part of that bass fretboard blank.
• My first attempt at building without an end graft.

From what I can tell, it’s sound is warm, bright and pretty loud (with great bass) for a guitar of that size.

I tried some staining onto bare wood on the top – propably won’t do that again, but instead mix the stain with the first coats of Nitro. Besides that, I couldn’t be more happy.

Great work! I really like the one piece side! First time I've seen it even though I've thought of it before.

Yeah! Stain just kills chatoyance. A better bet is dye onto bare wood, and better yet, is in the finish itself. Stain's like rubbing dirt into the wood. It's used for even grained/figured wood to even out color but anything figured should be dyed ..if it has to be done at all.

Again great work! Very clean!

Looks great, although the slightly mismatched binding color goes against the no graft theme.

For tinting the top, you could try shellac. A couple coats of blonde or orange (not darker, very easy to blotch it) then another couple coats of brown seedlac. It can end up very even. Just wipe it on with a rag soaked in thin 1 pound cut, let it dry for a few hours, repeat, so on.

Awesome job! Before I zoomed in on the end picture, I thought it was a one piece side too! Love those L-00 body shapes. All the appointments are very tasteful! [:Y:] Also that's a pretty sweet set of Indian on the back!

24.9 and a 12-fretter on a 00....nice!
Some great detail work - nice job at the end of the fretboard!

Beautiful work, Chris! I like what you did with the stain on the top. How deep is the body? I would love to hear a sound clip.

Thanks a lot for all the nice comments. [:Y:]

Charlie,
The body depth is 10,8cm at the bottom and 9,8cm at the neck.

Someone noted the uneven colors of the binding at the bottom. This is only visible in direct sunlight. When the sun is not shining, the binding strips have a perfect color match. duh

Gorgeous. When I first looked at the tail, I thought it was a complete wrap of a very long, one-piece side!
Very nice, indeed.
