I am moving along on my harp ukulele; I put in the end wedge today and have the top glued down. I know the end wedge is backwards ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Finally got back to work on my Les Paul after screwing up the first neck attempt. Got it fit to the body, made a router template for the initial headstock shape, then started shaping the neck profiles. I've decided that I need to nothing but shape necks for a week if I ever want to gain any proficiency at it. Kevin Looker |

I've been working on my first mando - I have most of the parts built - now for some final graduations/sanding - then gluing it all together - here it is with the neck, sides and blocks all glued together, top and back carved |

I finished this thing: ![]() More pics here: http://luthiersforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10101&t=37056 Plus there was another wave of ants that declared war on my yard. I used some incendiary devices to obliterate them. Good times. |

Had a big week delivering two recent commissions to their new owners in NYC. One is a wenge and sinker redwood parlor based on Martin's 2 1/2 size. Built for a friend who spent 2 years in Mali with the Peace Corps, it has an African theme, complete with pre-ban ivory bridge, tailwedge, and fingerboard inlay. Attachment: Moo Chair.jpg On the other end of the spectrum, is a 28"-scale baritone with a sitka top and fiddleback koa back and sides. This is my own shape, based on my Odalisque design, but scaled up to jumbo proportions. I didn't get a whole lot of guitar building done, instead I was able to move a few things around in my shop and fit in a (new to me) used bandsaw. Out with my little table top unit! My next "tool" project will be to remove my West Penn cyclone system and install my new Clearvue CVMAX. Ill be needing to run 220 to my shop first though. |

Spent the weekend, well make that Wed & Thurs evening plus all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at the Winnipeg Folk Festival. This show has been running 39 years and I've been attending most of the last 30. Got lots of vitamin D from lots of sunshine. http://www.winnipegfolkfestival.ca/festival/artists/2012-performers-4/ Got the inlay lines cut in the viola da gamba back and started to get some of the inlay glued in. Not much in the way of photos yet, but soon! |

Spayed the nitro on this round shoulder dred. Now waiting for sufficient dry time. I would not have gotten it sprayed with my old conventional set up due to high humidity. But was no problem for the Fuji mini mite. Chuck |

Closed the box on the pine topped, all Michigan L-OO; and after putting off doing a heel graft on a claro walnut FB-185 for weeks, I finally hunkered down, sharpened the chisel, and got it done. Still needs to be final shaped, but the hard part is behind me: Attachment: IMGP7312.jpg Ken |
