I just finished one off with EM6000 and unfortunately, this is somewhat of a rush job. I can let it hang for about 3 weeks maximum and still hit my deadline. Given the choice between a warm but slightly humid environment (probably around 60%) or a drier but slightly colder environment, which would you choose? |

Dry and cool would be better than humid and warm. |

Hmmm....good question. I'm not sure humidity has an effect during "cure" or "hardening" (ie once it's dried properly). I always just use my office (uncontrolled, in many ways...) I'd ask the Target Coatings forum (or email Jeff Weiss direct) |

Andy, Drier and cooler would probably be better, but it is all relative. Hot and dry decreases curing time and cold and humid increases curing time. You were not not specific on the temperatures, so it is hard to say. Try 3 or 4 sprays 45- 60 min apart on some scrap and see how it does. You also have the option of using the SA5 retarder. Bill |

All the coats are already done, I'm just want it to harden as much as possible before I sand and buff. I think I have an answer to the question though - I grabbed my hygrometer from the workshop where it's about 72 degrees and 40%RH and brought it upstairs to check the difference and the humidity is only a couple points higher here (about 43%) but the AC is set to 79. I think I'll find a place to hang it up here. (dang, it sure seems more humid up here!) |
