Post subject:  Is this Tannin

These are a couple of cherry sides, there are grey green marks in some areas. its consistent on both sides in the same place. is this natural or tannin showing through?

The white pencil marks are not connected , that's just a thin area I need make sure I cut off later

The bitter cherry that grows here looks exactly like that. idunno I'd hazard a guess that it's not a defect, just some colour. As far as it being high in tannins, your guess would be as good as mine.
