Just sell it in the classifieds. Edit: that came across more snippy than I intended. If you were to do a more standard shape like an LP or something, you'd have no problem recouping your cost or even profiting by selling it in the classifieds. |

verhoevenc wrote: Sorry, I was helping a friend move and jotting on/off the forum when I wrote this. I gotcha now that I'm sitting down and paying more attention. You're saying do the demo top in an LP shape instead of one of my shapes. That way I can just sell the top when I'm done. Not a bad idea actually. I have a PRS-shaped top already cut out in some nice spruce that I'll never use that may work well for this? Chris Haha, no problem. And yes, exactly. LP's, PRS's---those are definitely high-interest, very appealing shapes. |

Not sure it could be of use, but I just scored some Port Orford 1 1/2 x 5 with tight flat grain I have 25 linear feet of this. It is perfect for a 2 piece neck blank, that is what I bought it for, if this will be useful, I would chip in to learn something from Myka's shop. Can this work for the core? I will take some pics if you think you can use this material. Rob |

Here is the stock, the grains are pretty close to perfectly flat, with about 15 grains per inch on the edges, perfect for a neck, I don't think there is much creative resawing that can be done on these to make them useful for much else. I have not scanned the stock at this place in a while, but there is almost nothing even rift enough to pretend to be quartered, and most is pretty knotty. I am hoping to spend a bit more time there this summer, so hopefully I can score something good. I am also hoping to get some of the old timer local guys to reveal some stashes at the event here in August. |

So do you need fancy vacuum fixtures to veneer a carved top? |

Hey Chris, I've got a pile of burled walnut veneer if you need some for this top. Steve |
