Anyone looking for good solid info on guitar voicing should check out John Greven's site. Go to the workshop section and look for voicings.

Anything John Greven has to say about guitars is worth listening to. Thanks. Although he doesn't highlight them, his data on Palo Escrito are worth noting. Greven's final notes about the volume of Brazilian Rosewood that went to the perfume industry may be confusing Dalbergia nigra with Aniba rosaeodora. I'm no botanist. This confusion has come up before. I'm always confused.

Eric - I think you may be right about Dalbergia nigra /Aniba rosaeodora. I have read elsewhere that it is Aniba rosaeodora and not nigra that is/was used for perfume.

Copy the address and paste it into your browser's address bar, then remove the 'Is' at the end. Works fine then.

I know John and his methods well. It is highly unlikely that anyone who has built less than 500 guitars can emulate them as consistently as him.

Thanks for the link. Regarding perfumes, A. Rosaeodora = Channel n. 5 (Rosaeodora means something like rose-scent), it´s a well known constituent of high-end perfumes; OTOH, maybe there has been some fragrances made out of Dalbergia nigra, but i´m unaware of it - so it´s usage would have been marginal at best, i presume.
