I sometimes need to wear glasses as I cut pearl or sand/radius a fingerboard and the mask I use makes fitting the glasses awkward. Is there a mask that would allow glasses to be worn in the usual manner? I could use a headband mounted magnifying devise but the glasses are more practical. Has anyone else dealt with this issue?

Michael,

I wear glasses all the time. When I'm making dust I usually wear a half faced respirator.

The regular dust mask don’t fit as well and cause my glasses to fog.. I started wearing the more heavy duty face mask that seals. I find it to be more comfortable and I notice a difference in what is being filtered out. Eventually I'm going to change out the carbon filters and just start using the particulate filters that are in this link.

For your question, I have not had a problem with this style and glasses. The seal keeps them from fogging and overall I find them to be more comfortable all around. They are adjustable and you can adjust the fit and how it hangs while maintaining the seal. I also have a set of prescription shop safety glasses that I wear, so I have the combo pretty much dialed in for what works.

Here is one option, but there are many others. Look for "single cartridge dust masks" or "single cartridge molded rubber respirators". This will get you something you can use with glasses.

Thanks guys. I bought the 3M 6391 (the large size) because one of the reviewers suggested that and he was correct. It fits perfectly and leaves just enough room for my glasses to fit comfortably.
