I had gotten some unbleached bone saddle blanks that were 7/64" thick. I am using the last one and would like to get a few more, except I can't remember where I got them. Anyone know where I can get some more? Thanks. |

Probably Colonial. I got some great ones there, but it seems they've gone off the menu... oh well, there's always LMI and StewMac. |

You can order what you want from Chrislin Trading. Christie Soong runs the biz, and is very nice. I normally try to avoid buying products from China as much as possible, but she's great to work with, and will provide materials to your spec. http://www.chrislintrading.com/ |

The Depaule family biz has them. http://www.luthiersupply.com/nutsandsaddles.html As it says they are slightly bleached. Also another outstanding bunch to deal with. |

I prefer buying oversized bone blanks, because if it's too thick I can always cut it down with a bandsaw and end up with scrap pieces that I can make tie block inlays or shims with... |

Tom West wrote: Brian: They are thicker..........??? Tom Yes. Most of the blanks in my drawer are from LMI and are .092"-.093" thick. But I also had a few I picked up somewhere that were a bit thicker .105"-.107". That extra bit of thickness makes for a real nice snug fit in certain instances. I don't remember where I got them, but I would like to find some more. |

StewMac has 9/64" blanks. You could sand them down to fit. |
