The feed motor started making a really nasty rattling noise when running it late last week. Checked the motor which was starting to get uncomfortably warm to the touch. Turns out that one of the permanent magnets that bond to the inside of the motor housing had come loose. Rebonded it with CA (superglue) and now seems to be fine. I thought about just buying a replacment motor and attached gear reducer but then checked the price which is $360 online. |

That is scary expensive. Thank God for duct tape and super glue |

I had to do the same fix on a bosch cordless jigsaw. Seems to me they need a better way to attach these fixed magnets.(fish glue)? ![]() |

I had the feed belt motor crap out on me (one of the gears in the head stripped). I found this motor and have been running it for about a year, so far so good. I think the Delta motor has slightly different specs, but almost certainly made by Dayton; this one drops right in. http://www.emotorpro.com/daytongearmoto ... 1lpw3.aspx |

Thanks for the heads up, Matt. Might save someone a few bucks. I'm always amazed how manufacturers will jack up the price on items like this. |
