The amount of spam on the Community forum is getting a little much, how can we eliminate this?

I think there is something to that. Obviously we can't just re-name it, but do we know how/why that section is the only one a(in)ffected? For all intents and purposes that section will soon be dead since it is getting too annoying to read through, so the garbage can just pile up unnoticed. Question then becomes where do people end up raising community issues (assuming people stop reading the community forum).

On certain forums, there's a dedicated thread to introduce yourself when you register. Well, just like in the classifieds, here.
We could just do the same to the main forum; people have to authenticate themselves before being able to post something on other threads.

Have you got anything without spam?
...
Waitress:
Well, the spam, eggs, sausage and spam
That's not got much spam in it

Wife:
I don't want any spam!

Customer:
Why can't she have eggs, bacon, spam and sausage?

Wife:
That's got spam in it!

Customer:
Hasn't got much spam in it as spam, eggs, sausage and spam has it?
... Monty Python

on a more serious note. i think a lot of forums are implementing the anti-spam function when you create a new account. It's that "type what you see in the box" function that bots can't interpret. Then you simply make it so only registered members can post topics.

I forget if the OLF has it, it's been a long time since I created my account.

The spammers are registering as members, and yes it is good they are only attacking one forum topic.

The problem is that spams are not always bots. There are people paid to be spam.

I haven't noticed much spam. What topic is it in?

This is clearly a "bot". Any human would realize that was a low volume forum and not put stuff there. It must be "keying" off the term "community" is my guess. Seems to me we have a defacto auto-spam eliminator if you care little about that forum.
