I want to make a fret buttress and I am confused about whether the bottom is flat or radiused. It rests on the guitar top both above and below the soundhole. My classical is flat in the upper bout above the soundhole, but the lower transverse brace below the soundhole is arched. I've seen pictures that Filippo posted with it mounted on a classical and I just can't figure it out? Can someone please explain.
A 2nd question is: is it used in conjunction with an inside caul that fits over the braces above the soundhole? Thanks, Wendy

Don't know where I got buttress from. I thought that was what Filippo called it when he posted it on a "favorite jigs" discussion. I've been using the bag of shot, but it hurts my hand to support the guitar from inside while hammering frets with the other hand. I'll PM Filippo. Thanks.
