I have a uke with an active pickup. Not a huge fan... Too hot. Was thinking maybe a passive pickup for the one I am building. Seems someone mentioned a brand with "feather" in the name?? What are your thoughts?

Mike (thank you!)

A tenor uke walks up to a soprano uke in the local singles bar and asks "have you ever tried this pickup line?"

Here's the site for the feather pickups.... http://www.hmmcintyrepickups.com/Page_2.html

I haven't used any pickups on my ukes but these sound pretty good in the sound clips. Good luck

Check out the MI-SI ACOUSTIC UKULELE SYSTEM. It is a rechargeable active system located on the endpin. A 60 second charge is good for 8 hours of play. I have not used the system yet but have heard good things about it. The plans are to use this system on my next build. Bob Gleason at Pegasus Guitar and Ukulele was selling them but I can’t reach his site from work. I’m sure a quick search will lead you to sellers.

Philip, those pickups are very nice. I like the feature of not having to put a battery inside. I'm kind of dissapointed that they charge $35 for a volume switch! Oh well.

Thanks!

Well, I rethought the numbers. Apparently, this is a baggs element pickup with an added fast charge battery, including the charger for $110. Add $35 for a volume AND tone control, makes it $145. The normal element custom with just volume control is $129. This is NOT a bad deal at all.
