I'm starting back on an OM I put aside a while back. I had it in an adjustable mold but removed it. The back is on and I am prepping the sides to attach the top. Since it was an adjustable mold the mold no longer has the original form. My concern is keeping the sides parallel without the mold and spreaders. It is difficult to check the square of the side due to the radius on the back. Should I try to reset the mold and and glue the top or can the top be glued on outside of the mold? Thanks Richard |

How square, or out of square are the sides? I know you say it's difficult to check due to the back radius, but do they look square? I'd say if they look good, don't worry about it. My OM mold is hanging on my wall empty right now if you want to use it. Assuming it's the same "OM" as yours. |

I use an adjustable Fox type mold and level the body with wedges and a support under the head block. You can use your spreaders and adjust to get everything square. I've done a lot of guitars this way. It works for me. ![]() |

I wonder if you could make a guitar more comfortable to use sitting down if it had one or more out of square sides? An angle might make it sit on the thigh a bit better (????)...I want to try this some day. |

Sounds like a nightmare scenario to build and bind, and I'm not sure how it would look...what does work is a wedge, however. Tilts the guitar back towards the player a little. |
