I have a customer who brought me a Burns Brian May's signature guitar for a refret (it has a real shoddy fretwork causing the guitar to be borderline unplayable), and now he's asking me to mail it, and he would wire me the fee beforehand. The problem is he brought the guitar in a soft foam shell case, it's one of those case made of a block of foam with the inside cut out so you can place a guitar inside, but the case itself is soft. I told him in the email that I can't be responsible for any damage and that there may even be a chance that the post office may even refuse to accept the guitar for shipment. I don't know where to get those guitar box that they ship cheap guitars in so I am not sure what to do. The question is, is it safe to mail a guitar in that kind of a case, or is there a way to protect it so that it can be mailed? If it helps its an electric guitar so it's not nearly as fragile as an acoustic guitar. |

Ask any local guitar shop. Ask for a few so that you have spares for later |

i don't know anything about the po in taiwan but the usps would proably reduce it to matchsticks or kindling! |

From my experience UPS would for sure reduce it to match sticks but USPS might deliver in perfect condition. |

I shipped one in a Bam Classic case via UPS. It was well packed in a box, with double layers of heavy corrugated board on both sides of the case and well packed in peanuts, and I had no problems at all. Maybe I'm just lucky.
